Anyone who has been scuba diving will tell you how amazing it is. It’s like a whole new world under the water! It makes me think that when im sailing on top of the ocean, I am blisfully unaware of the massive community swimming in the depths of the sea beneath me.Before we set out for Thailand, we had decided to start our open water padi diving course in the UK. As we didn’t have long in Thailand we wanted to make the most out of our diving experience. We were taught all the classroom sessions and learnt the basics in a local swimming pool. This set up our foundations for the real deal; the ocean.
The best way to observe a fish is to become a fish
Once in Thailand we had arranged to complete our Open Water Padi course with Sharkey Scuba, a diving couple that we would highly recommend. They offered us a packaged of five dives of two different locations: Racha Noi and Racha Yai Islands.
‘UNDER THE SEA, DARLING ITS BETTER, DOWN WHERE IT IS WETTER, TAKE IT FROM ME’
Below are a series of Go Pro videos that we took on our dives under the sea. It’s amateur footage that we wanted to share with you. Obviously doesn’t equate to the real thing, but it will hopefully persuade you to take up diving yourself.
Blue coral reef in amongst the not so vibrant reef
Moray Eel hiding beneath the rocks, poking their head out
Octopi that disappeared from view between rocks
Sea Cucumber moving across the bottom of the sea
One of the shoals of fish we saw
These are only snippets of the footage that we took underwater, they highlight the different types of marine life that we came across.
