Jersey

Jersey

Hi! Its Belles here! I thought I’d start by telling you a little bit about my hometown Jersey. And NO not in America, the Jersey I come from is a part of the Channel Islands off the coast of France.

It may only be a small island, 9×5 miles to be exact and it may have the nickname ‘the rock’  but it is where I grew up and where my family are based. I was brought up building sandcastles on the many beaches and going rock pooling for various crabs and fish. I have chased many of shrimp in my life time.

Jersey is surrounded by beaches and is a mix between countryside and town life. The island has a quaint local feel to it, but with just over 100,000 residents its not surprising everyone knows everyone’s business.

I grew up in Jersey and lived their until I was 18. Due to the career path I wished to take, I had to leave the island and travel to the UK.  I moved to England in autumn 2010 and went to Anglia Ruskin University to study Midwifery.

7 years later.. I am still in England and continuing to work as a midwife in Essex.

For the past four years I have thought about my life’s path and where it will take me. Still unsure of where I want to be based, this has led me to embark on this lifetime adventure with boyfriend Mike. Who knows where it will lead?
